Development of research-ready data sets from mostly administrative and proprietary data sets for analysis of policy-relevant issues.

The Public Economics Data Analysis Laboratory (PEDAL) is a high-security lab with layers of technical and physical security designed to protect confidentiality of sensitive administrative data while transforming it for research purposes. We specialize in cleaning and transforming administrative records; in quantitative analysis of individual and organizational level data; and in writing policy reports and academic research papers.

Use of technology that provides authentication and encrypted remote access to the lab’s secure server for data providers and research collaborators located in other cities and outside of Canada.
