Imagerie 3D, numérisation et reconstitution virtuelle d’objets archéologiques

Domaines d'expertise

Archéologie durable – Western est une initiative financée conjointement par la Western University (Archéologie durable – Western) et la McMaster University (Archéologie durable – McMaster) dans le sud de l’Ontario. Le laboratoire héberge en un même endroit des collections et des données archéologiques d’entreprises et de chercheurs de partout en Ontario.

Ce matériel couvre 13 000 années d’histoire humaine. Les artefacts, rapports et dossiers connexes qu’accueille le laboratoire sont numérisés et intégrés à une base de données en ligne à accès libre offrant un accès inégalé aux collections archéologiques du Canada. En outre, le laboratoire étudie les tendances à long terme du changement social et de l’innovation technologique grâce à l’analyse de matériaux ainsi qu’à des méthodes tridimensionnelles non effractives et à la reconstitution virtuelle d’environnements immersifs.
