User-centered Design Laboratory

Bishop's University, Sherbrooke, Québec
What the facility does

User-needs studies. Research focusing on the design and provision of products and services for ubiquitous assistance for seniors.

Areas of expertise

The research undertaken in the User-Centred Design Laboratory employs a unique process that enables multi-stage problem-solving through which users are involved in each step of the design and development process of new technologies. This research allows developers and researchers to assess and forecast how people use, and are likely to use, products and services. The process also enables researchers to utilize users' input in the design process, thereby reducing the costs affiliated with making poor design choices and maximizing the use of the best possible information in the interface between users and product/service.
