Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Research Centre (CR-HMR)

Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal, Montreal, Québec
What the facility does

The Centre focuses on three key areas of research: immunology-oncology, vision health and nephrology.

Areas of expertise

The Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Research Centre (CR-HMR) boasts three nationally and internationally recognized areas of research: immunology-oncology, vision health and nephrology. These three areas of focus allow for continuum between fundamental to translational to clinical research and align perfectly with the HRM’s solid teaching and clinical record.

The CR-HMR’s defining theme and objectives are organized around clearly defined areas and pathologies that rank the centre as a world-class leader in research:

  • Immunology-oncology: leukemias, lymphomas, myelomas and other blood cancers, transplant rejection problems, graft versus host disease, immunosuppression-related infectious diseases.
  • Vision health: macular degeneration, glaucoma and corneal diseases, neurodegenerative diseases, diabetic retinopathy.
  • Nephrology: kidney failure, inherited and immunological kidney diseases.

The CR-HMR’s scientific program is fully aligned with the strategic plans developed by the Université de Montréal, its Faculty of Medicine and the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux de l’Est-de-l’Île-de-Montréal. The program was developed through an evolving process over the past few years, during which it earned a formidable reputation among granting agencies.
