What the facility does

StemCore Laboratories operates with a dual mandate: to support high-throughput “omics” projects and to provide research-enabling technology to the local scientific community. Over the past decade, our user base has grown substantially. We now provide service to several hundred individual labs mainly in North America including those from academic institutions, government, NGO and the private sector. StemCore is a Platform Affiliate ( of the Ontario Genomics Institute. StemCore is committed to the values of research excellence, collaboration, trainee education, and innovation. Our vision is to build a stable infrastructure for genomics research by seeking out projects that are challenging, cutting-edge, extend the boundaries of biological knowledge, and will positively impact human health. Several large-scale high-throughput Genome Canada projects, such as the Stem Cell Genomics Project, have been conducted within our facilities. We also actively engage in and are highly supportive of grant-writing activities aimed at securing funding for high-throughput genomic studies utilizing the advanced genomics technologies present within our laboratory. We will work with you to provide letters of support and proof-of-concept data and will participate in collaborative grant writing upon request. Please consult with StemCore’s director, Dr. Pearl Campbell, for further details.
