What the facility does

Green chemistry, switchable/smart fluids

Areas of expertise

We develop new applications for waste CO2, including switchable (“smart”) solvents, switchable surfactants, switchable latexes and other solids, supercritical CO2, CO2-expanded liquids and conversion of biomass into useful products. Many of our smart fluids can change their properties upon command, including their polarity, viscosity, osmotic pressure and miscibility.
