Harley Lab (coastal marine ecology and the impacts of climate change)

The University of British Columbia, Vancouver, British Columbia
What the facility does

Studies ecology and biology of marine invertebrates and seaweeds as well as climate change.

Areas of expertise

The Harley Lab studies the effects of climate change and other stressors on benthic (bottom-dwelling) marine plants and animals. The lab has facilities to study the effects of warming and ocean acidification on these species.

Research services
  • Invertebrate and seaweed culturing
  • Temperature and carbon dioxide manipulations
Sectors of application
  • Environmental technologies and related services
  • Fisheries and aquaculture
  • Ocean industries
