Centre for Collaborative Interactive Digital Media/Dynamic Graphics Project

University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario
What the facility does

Research on all aspects of digital media, including human-computer interaction, usability, computer graphics, computer animation, visualization, virtual reality, augmented reality, computational fabrication, computational photography, and sketch-based modelling.

Areas of expertise

Our laboratory does fundamental and applied research on the ways digital media is created, manipulated, and consumed.  A key problem, however, is the lack of tools to allow the ubiquitous creation of digital media, and the lack of usability of the tools that do exist. The Centre for Collaborative Interactive Digital Media (also known as the Dynamic Graphics Project) contains world class researchers in human-computer interaction, usability, computer graphics, computer animation, visualization, virtual reality, augmented reality, computational fabrication, computational photography, and sketch based modelling.

Research services

Physical simulation, computational fabrication, usability engineering, digital modelling and prototyping.
