Improves organizational performance by developing geomatics through applied research, technical assistance, and specialized training.
The Quebec Centre of Geomatics (CGQ) is a college center for the transfer of technology (CCTT) affiliated with the Cégep de Chicoutimi. With its multi-disciplinary team and state-of-the-art equipment the only one of its kind in Canada, the CGQ specializes in active and passive remote sensing and artificial intelligence-based geospatial data processing. The research team also integrates equipment on various data acquisition platforms, including aircraft, a DJI Matrice 600 Pro drone and a Unitree Go2 robot.
The CGQ also provides financial support for research.
The CGQ specializes in:
•    Earth sciences – Geology
•    Natural resource management
•    Environmental monitoring
•    Transport and logistics
•    Municipal geomatics
•    Digital twins
•    Data acquisition
•    Geospatial analyses
•    Geospatial databases
•    Drones and photogrammetry
•    Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and various sensors
•    Artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision
