The Reality Capture and Digitization Technology Access Centre (RDC-TAC) specializes in collecting, processing, and visualizing data from our suite of advanced reality capture and digitization technologies to accelerate business and community innovation. Our team of expert research and technical staff aim to leverage reality capture technologies to address real-world applications in operational environments through applied research projects with industry and community partners across multiple sectors.

Our team has expertise in Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR), laser scanning, photogrammetry, geographic information systems (GIS), as well as multispectral and hyperspectral imaging. We work closely with our multi-disciplinary innovation network to increase technological literacy and adoption to help advance the profitability and efficiency of our partner businesses and communities.

viDoc RTKGlobal navigation satellite system (GNSS) attachment for the iPad Pro to get more accurate location information and produce accurate 3D models from terrestrial photogrammetry.
DJI Matrice 600 ProMulti-purpose rotary wing UAV used to mount a variety of sensors, namely the Zenmuse X5 camera, GeoSLAM Zeb Horizon, and the AstraLiTE EDGE.
DJI Phantom 4 RTKPhotogrammetry rotary wing Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) with Real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning capabilities to allow aerial imagery to be collected without ground control targets placed on site.
HySpex MjolnirHyperspectral imaging sensor with short-wave infrared (SWIR) and very near infrared wave (VNIR) cameras to collect aerial images. Also has a LiDAR attachment to map the 3D surface. Comes with a tripod mount for non-aerial use.
Hercules 8xMulti-purpose industrial lift Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV), designed to hold the HySpex Mjolnir sensor to collect hyperspectral imagery aerially.
ASTRALiTe EDGE LiDARCombination topometric and bathymetric sensor used to create a 3D map of ground and underneath shallow (up to 6m) water. This sensor is mounted on an Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV).
Flyability EliosRotary wing inspection Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle (UAV) with RGB (red, green, blue) camera, LiDAR puck, and thermal camera. Protected inside a cage to prevent damage to the system in hazardous or small spaces. Designed to work both above and below ground in GPS denied areas.
Mavic MiniSmall rotary wing photogrammetry UAV (Uncrewed Aerial Vehicle), able to be flown in controlled airspace for smaller areas.
Leica BLK360 G2Small terrestrial LiDAR system with integrated high-speed high dynamic range (HDR) spherical imaging systems and Visual Inertial System (VIS) for real-time pre-registration, used to create precise, photorealistic 3D models of an area or structure.
