The laboratory offers a full array of multiparameter cellular analysis services.
Done simultaneously, analyses of a variety of functional parameters, combined with surface markers, make it possible to identify and understand new mechanisms of cell immunity and viral pathogenesis.
We offer expert services in high-speed cell sorting for the purification of discrete primary cell subsets (peripheral blood or other tissues) and cell lines.
Our research centre is one of only a small number in Canada that offers a high-speed cell sorting service in a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3) cabinet, allowing the sorting of cells of patients infected with HIV and HVC.

Analyser cytometers
We have three cytometers for analysing size, granularity and fluorescences emitted by cells and particles, according to the number of required parameters.
Possible applications: immunophenotyping, cytokine quantification, cellular cycle, proliferation, apoptosis, protein interaction (FRET), determination of mitochondrial membrane potential, measure of oxidative stress.
These cytometers can be used in self-service mode. The laboratory offers also turnkey services.
Cell-sorting cytometers
We have two four-laser (V405, B488, YG561, R633) 17-parameter, 15-colour (5V, 2B, 5YG, 3R) BD ARIAIIIu cytometers for cellular sorting, according to size, granularity and fluorescence emitted by cells and particles.
Both of these cytometers are located under safety biological hoods, and one of them is under a Biosafety Level 3 (BSL3) hood enabling infectious-material cell sorting.
Possible applications: high-speed sorting (50 million cells/hour) of up to four subsets of healthy or infected cells, sorting in plates or on slides. This service is provided only by the laboratory personnel.
