Centre for Connected Building Technologies (CCBT)

Fanshawe College, London, Ontario
What the facility does

Conducts industry-driven research to develop devices and technologies for manufacturing, smart buildings, agriculture, and transportation.

Areas of expertise

The Centre for Connected Building Technologies (CCBT) supports Canadian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in designing and deploying innovative sensors, mobile applications, machine learning solutions and data analytics tools to address specific problems and needs. Researchers validate new technologies in real-world environments, drawing on Fanshawe's resources and expertise and fostering connections with potential adopters. Within a state-of-the-art 1000-square-foot facility, the research team also collaborates with businesses across Canada on R&D projects to overcome barriers to growth, using advanced scientific equipment and infrastructure, including dedicated supercomputing capabilities available through SHARCNET.
