Fosters academic and industrial partnerships through access to cutting-edge light microscopy, photopatterning, and light-assisted 3D printing techniques.

Areas of expertise

The mission of McMaster’s Centre for Advanced Light Microscopy (CALM) is to support research and training in the science, engineering, and life sciences communities by providing researchers access to a hub of excellence in light microscopy, characterized by world-class instrumentation, high quality scientific research, promoting cross-disciplinary interactions among researchers and training future generations of microscopists.

Research services

Material and bioanalytical services including: Microscopy, confocal microscopy, multiphoton microscopy, super-resolution imaging, high content analysis, slide scanning, live cell imaging, time-lapsed imaging, atomic force microscopy (AFM), image data acquisition and processing/interpretation, 3D image reconstruction and image analysis, sample preparation, custom image analysis routines, large dataset analysis, user material/instrument consultation, user training/education.
