Research in the design of mobile robots and autonomous automated systems, mainly from an algorithmic point of view
The laboratory has several mobile ground-based robots and aerial robots (drones) equipped with various sensors to test perception, location and other algorithms. One ground vehicle (Clearpath Robotics Husky) is equipped with a Kinova MICO manipulator arm to test mobile manipulation algorithms. We have two AscTec Firefly hexacopters, a Pelican quadrocopter and a DJI Matrice 100 drone.
Available sensors include LiDARs, cameras, GPS and IMUs. We also have an approximately 11 m x 9 m x 2.5 m space equipped with a VICON motion capture system for locating objects with millimetre accuracy at a frequency of 250 Hz.
The main equipment that can be made available to partners is the VICON motion capture system. In addition, it is possible to use our mobile drones and robots for joint research projects. We offer assistance developing algorithms for computer vision, localization, autonomous navigation, and decision and optimization, as well as assistance for planning trajectories, etc.
