Lipidomics Core Facility

University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta
What the facility does

This core facility specializes in quantitative analysis of lipids using state-of-the-art chromatographic and mass spectrometric techniques

Areas of expertise

Lipid and lipoprotein analysis by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC), gas chromatography (GC), and mass spectrometry.

We have many years of experience in extracting, purifying, and identifying various lipid types, and also do lipoprotein profiling. We can perform analytical measurements of other biological compounds on a case-by-case basis.

The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry also offers a Flow Cytometry Facility and a Cell Imaging Core.

Research services

Analytical separation and identification of lipids, lipoproteins, and other compounds with no-charge consultation and advice.
