Publishes award-winning books in the humanities and social sciences, literary translations, the Harvest House imprint and the Mercury Series.

Areas of expertise

Located in Canada’s national capital, the University of Ottawa Press (UOP) is the publishing arm of one of Canada's top research universities and one of the world's top bilingual universities. UOP is also North America's only fully bilingual university press and is the oldest French-language university press. UOP publishes approximately 14 books in English and 14 in French annually, mainly monographs and collective works in the humanities and social sciences, but also translations of literary works that contribute to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge and to unrestricted access to scholarly research. The UOP peer-reviewed publishing program reflects and promotes critical and ethical thought, first-class research, intellectual integrity, social responsibility and innovation. It includes the Harvest House imprint as well as the Mercury Series (Canadian Museum of History) imprint. Since 1936, more than 1,100 titles have been published, with over 500 in circulation today. Its active digital holdings, which include the entire Mercury Series backlist, include more than 1,200 ebooks in various formats.
